Why do you want to farm that?
The standard way is by trapping, pretty much any dedicated trapping build will work.

Switch to R/Mo. Take all of your armor off, and use the spells balthazars spirit, essence bond, retribution, protective spirit, and spirit bond. Spam spirit bond but dont let it get interupted and disabled. If you have shield of judgement or ray of judgement, that would be a definite plus for this build.
Or, you could run a combination heal prot marksmanship build. Use protective spirit, vigorous spirit, live vicariously, and barrage, with zealous mod preferably. Through in some evasion for extra protection, or even shielding hands or sheild of absoption.

I would say this is the most probable to work so far. I might take a look into making a build for it although trolls haven't been worth killing since 2005.

if you're gonna bring heal sig, you should consider bringing frenzy.

Did you post in the wrong forum, I thought you wanted help with a Ranger build? :/
The trapping build for the troll cave is as effective as it gets - I should know, I posted it originally - 22nd March 2006 so it's only been around 3 years :O
